Following a previous planning refusal for the site by others, DDL were appointed to provide a brand new scheme for the site of the demolished Townhouse public house. The resultant scheme provided a five story development containing thirty three student bed spaces within five cluster flats. DDL worked very closely with Plymouth City Council throughout the development of the design and the scheme was unanimously approved at Planning Committee.
Following a change of direction the Client decided that a renovation proposal would be preferred. A full refurbishment scheme was then compiled in close contact with Building Control, and the final scheme provides a total of sixteen student rooms over three floors.
