2015 was a very positive year for Design Development Ltd for a number of reasons.
During the past 12 months we have expanded our team, taking on a senior 3d visualisation and architectural technician, an architectural technician, an junior technician and a planning consultant, bringing our number to 12. As a result, we are rapidly outgrowing our offices!
To address this issue we have designed an extension to the rear of our existing offices at Lansdowne House, which we are very happy to say, was granted planning permission late last year. Once built, the new extension will be fitted out as a modern open plan studio feel space and will be a new home for all of our staff members. The existing offices will be refurbished and rationalised, creating much needed additional meeting rooms, staff break out area, new kitchen and additional storage. We are very excited to be progressing this project during 2016.
Last year also saw the continued positive upturn in our workload, which thanks to the recent staff additions, we coped with extremely well. We have built on our existing client base by not only continuing to provide planning and working drawing packages for many of the large house builders, but also designing many bespoke housing schemes for our private clients. We have also been working on some very interesting schemes including a school in Plymouth, a listed building in Hooe and also the addition of a luxury spa to the Boringdon Hall Hotel, to name but a few.
As a result of the addition of staff with specialist skills, we are now able to offer additional services to those previously provided. Design Development Ltd. can now offer 3D visuals packages, a full interiors service and a comprehensive planning consultancy, all of which have already been utilised to great effect for our Clients.
2016 marks the thirteenth year of trading for Design Development Ltd. Here’s hoping that this year is even more positive!
