Senior Position
Architectural Technologist
Experience  5+ years, residential focus
Type  Project runner
Location  Plymouth
Chartership  MCIAT, or actively working towards
Remuneration
£33,000 – £38,000 depending on experience
The Role

We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technologist ready to take ownership of projects and run jobs independently from planning through to completion on site. This is a hands-on technical role with real responsibility. We are looking for someone who enjoys working through the details and seeing projects properly resolved.

Responsibilities
  • Running projects independently from planning through construction stage
  • Preparing planning and building regulations drawing packages
  • Developing and resolving technical detailing
  • Coordinating structural engineers and other consultants
  • Managing construction stage queries and site information
  • Maintaining organised, clear project documentation
Requirements
  • Chartered MCIAT, or actively working towards chartership
  • Solid working knowledge of UK Building Regulations
  • Proven experience on UK residential projects
  • Ability to spot and resolve coordination issues early
  • Clear communicator with consultants and colleagues
  • Experience with Principal Designer roles advantageous

Junior Position
Junior Architectural Technician
Experience  Early career
Type  Support & development role
Location  Plymouth
Chartership  Route to MCIAT supported
Remuneration
£25,000 – £30,000 depending on experience
The Role

This role is for someone at the start of their career who is serious about developing into a qualified Architectural Technologist. You will work alongside our senior team on live residential projects, building real technical knowledge and working towards MCIAT chartership. We will support your development actively.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting senior technologists on planning and technical packages
  • Preparing and updating drawing information under supervision
  • Assisting with building regulations submissions
  • Helping coordinate consultant information
  • Maintaining organised project files and records
  • Learning how buildings are detailed, specified and built
Requirements
  • A relevant qualification in Architectural Technology or similar
  • Genuine aspiration to qualify as an Architectural Technologist
  • Commitment to working towards CIAT chartership
  • Some exposure to UK residential construction — welcome but not essential
  • Careful, organised, and takes pride in producing clear work
  • Ability to take on board instruction and work independently
