profile

Ashley graduated from the University of Plymouth in 2015 with a BA (Hons) in Architectural Technology and Environment, and joined Design Development the following year as an Architectural Technologist. Now a Senior Chartered Architectural Technologist and Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (MCIAT), Ashley brings close to a decade of experience across a broad range of residential projects.
Ashley has extensive experience running projects independently from inception through to completion on site, including planning applications, building regulations submissions and technical package production across project scales from individual bespoke dwellings through to large residential and commercial developments. He plays an active role in coordinating consultant information and managing construction stage queries through to handover. In recent years Ashley has taken on additional responsibilities as both Principal Designer under CDM 2015 and Building Regulations, overseeing health and safety obligations, pre-construction information and tender package preparation across live projects.

project specific experience

Ashley’s experience lies mainly in the residential sector. He has worked on numerous large scale house builder schemes including the new town of Sherford, Plymouth.

other experience

Ashley is in the process of leading the practice across to Revit, BIM workflows and data management. He also maintains the practice’s social media presence, and website.

interests

Outside of the office, Ashley volunteers as a Detachment Commander in the Army Cadet Force. Mentoring young people, teaching leadership, teamwork, and life skills through military style training.
