Director

Ian is the sole director of design development limited having previously held the position of Associate Director in one of the largest architectural practices in Plymouth. Ian has worked in and around the Plymouth area since leaving University and has been the lead Architect on numerous large contracts across many sectors.

Ian’s experience within the housing sector is very extensive, working on diverse projects from one off bespoke houses to major developments of houses and flats. Over the past twelve years, Ian has been involved in many developments for a number of the major house builders and private developers all over the region including working for Housing Associations and Local Authorities.

Ian was the lead Architect and Project Manager for the recently completed new offices and conference centre for West Devon Borough Council in Tavistock. Ian has gained experience across all sectors within the construction industry, including large multi-sport leisure complexes in Okehampton, Devon and Penzance in Cornwall, Care Homes in Plymouth and Student accommodation.

Ian has been on the committee of The Building Forum (Devon and Cornwall) for 18 years and the Secretary for 14.
